Lightning Conference

The National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) and EMA are pleased to host the International Conference on Lightning and Static Electricity (ICOLSE).

ICOLSE is a biennial conference with the aim bringing together experts from all fields on the subject of lightning and static electric. It is concerned with all aspects of lightning interaction with ground, air and sea systems. Papers will be presented that contain original material to promote discussion at all levels and address problems of present and future technologies.

ICOLSE aims to encourage a real understanding of atmospheric electricity environmental hazards. A full program of papers on topics from phenomenology, through measurement, design, protection, testing and computational modelling will be presented. Authors come from across Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.

The return of ICOLSE to the USA after six years combined with the intense industrial and research interest in its topics means that this year’s show is likely to break attendance records. Now is the time to make your plans for presenting a technical paper or sponsoring an exhibit.
