E3 Aerospace and Defense

Electro Magnetic Applications, Inc. (EMA) provides environmental electromagnetic effects (E3) services for the aerospace and defense industry. Our design, simulation, and test support ensure mission success for companies around the world.

EMA supports aerospace and defense projects through:

· Testing: We develop a procedure plan and perform physical testing including compliance testing from vendors.

· Simulation: We use Ansys EMC Plus to predict and address potential interference, optimize bonding/ shielding/ grounding, perform lightning zoning, and more.

· Airworthiness assessments: We do all planning, reporting, and interface with the FAA.

· Mitigating issues: We identify issues early and create mitigation strategies.

Platform Modeling

EMA’s modeling includes full platforms, including but not limited to:

· Airplanes of all sizes

· Aircraft subassemblies

· Boost vehicles/ rockets

· Drones

· eVTOLs

· Fuel tanks

· Helicopters

· Spacecraft

E3 Types

E3 refers to the impact of the electromagnetic environment on the performance and safety of equipment, systems, and platforms. It encompasses various aspects such as electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electromagnetic interference (EMI), and hazards of electromagnetic radiation. EMA can test for the effects of:

· Lighting, direct and indirect effects

· Electromagnetic pulse (EMP)

· High intensity radiated fields (HIRF)

· EMI/EMC such as crosstalk, radiated emissions, radiated susceptibility, conducted emissions, and conducted susceptibility

· Precipitation static

· Radio frequency interference (RFI)

Certification Testing

EMA can help you meet the following certification and standards:

· ARP 5583

· ARP 5416/ ARP 5415

· MIL-STD-461

· DO-160

Start Now

EMA will take control of all component and system levels tests including planning, compliance, measurements, and more. We have a lightning transient generator used for physical testing. This testing can be done on-site. Simulation is done using Ansys EMC Plus.
