LAKEWOOD, Colorado- Electro Magnetic Applications, Inc. (EMA) is adding Ansys STK Shield Plus to its electromagnetic simulation software lineup to help Ansys Systems Tool Kit (STK) users identify survivability concerns caused by electromagnetic radiation, space plasma, high-energy radiation, and atmospheric electricity.

STK Shield Plus is an add-on to STK that delivers six easy to use workflows:

  • Electromagnetic shielding effectiveness
  • Lightning risk analysis
  • Cable shielding evaluation
  • Radiation dose depth curve generation
  • 3D radiation dose modeling
  • Spacecraft surface electrostatic discharge (ESD) risk assessment

STK provides a physics-based modeling environment for analyzing platforms and payloads in a realistic mission context. STK Shield Plus is based Ansys Charge Plus’s unique combination of electromagnetic, fluid, and particle physics solvers to provide powerful multiphysics simulation.

“In Ansys STK Shield Plus we have streamlined the workflows and made them as accessible as possible so that STK engineers can do quick simulations. Users can assess the reliability of their mission when they change the environment that they are exposed to,” said EMA Principal Scientist II and Product Manager Kevin-Druis Merenda.
